Leona’s youngest girl Ava has always been an old soul at heart (she’s only 6!). She regularly asks to watch older style films and movies when they have movie nights, so we thought that she’d be a perfect model for an Audrey Hepburn – Breakfast at Tiffany’s photo shoot. When you see Ava in these pictures, she feels right at home dressing up and pretending she’s a classy young lady from the 60s.

Once we got the idea to do this photoshoot with Ava, Joelle and Leona got to brainstorming ideas, clothing, props, and locations using a group board on Pinterest. Here is their shared board: Audrey Shoot.

Leona took it upon herself to hand make the pearl necklace and the black dress so that it fit Ava perfectly; she and her sister Gabrielle along with Ava’s other siblings did any amazing job getting the details just-right. Joelle took quite a bit of time sourcing out all the props needed as well as taking some time to go and talk to Michael at Michael’s Jewelers to see if we could do a short photoshoot in their store for an hour or so; Michael agreed and even said he might have a couple special pieces that Ava could try on while she was there. Awesome!

Finally, I took some time to analyze some of the vintage style photographs to see how they might have been taken and what I could do in order to replicate some of the “look” from a 1960s film camera. It was actually a very fun process trying to figure things out and plan what I’d do in order to get some amazing images that I’d have to add a “Style” to once I did some post-processing on the pictures. I think we did a pretty good job!
